Hi!
I’m Ruth, a passionate disability advocate who believes strongly in disability pride, self-advocacy, inclusion, and creating opportunities for people with disabilities to have their voices heard. I have experience working in disability advocacy, inclusive postsecondary education, youth leadership, peer mentoring, and supporting young adults with disabilities. I’m especially interested in helping make colleges, workplaces, communities, and public policy more inclusive and accessible for people with disabilities. Talk to me about: disability rights and policy, self-advocacy, disability pride, inclusive higher education (IPSE), accessibility, youth leadership, peer mentoring, employment opportunities for people with disabilities, and ways we can create more inclusive communities. When I’m not working or advocating, you can usually find me reading a good book, spending time with my beagle, watching sports, traveling, enjoying movies and musicals, or learning more about the UK and British culture. I also value my faith and enjoy spending time with friends and family.I love meeting other advocates, learning from people’s experiences, exchanging ideas, and building relationships with people who share a commitment to making our communities more inclusive, accessible, kind, and welcoming for everyone.
